Happy Hanukkah 2014! December 18 2014, 1 Comment
The Story of Hanukkah:
The 2nd Jewish temple in Jerusalem was under the control of the Seleucid Empire for some time. The Maccabees, a group of Jewish rebels, retook control over the temple in the 2nd century BCE. To rededicate the temple, the Jews lit a menorah in the temple, meant to last for 8 days. However, they only had enough oil to last one day. The miracle of Hanukkah is that the oil lasted for 8 days anyway during this rededication.
This miracle of the oil lasting much longer than it should have is celebrated every year during Holiday Season.
Celebrate this miracle around your own Patagonia Legacy table, which too will last for many years, even generations, to come.
